Water!

27 July 2011

Water is so important in our live. We can't live without water for 3 days. But when water keeps coming, we can't live without doing something to stop it!

Tap in bathroom at master bedroom was a hoo-hah (fuss) after H used the shower tap before having dinner. Bursting, he said. Like firework, M imagined. Had to shut down the main water piping outside the house.

Initially just dripping since the night before. Ah Mah called in the morning and informed some minor leakage, like stream flow from milk bottle. Everything is fine while M showered W (lucky)!

Situation like this have to be handled by men. And so it happened After the only MAN reached home.

Poor man who is hungry (dinner packed still untouch on dinning table) started to running in and out of the house to the main water piping (outside the house near neighbour's entrance). The 2 children running excitedly after their Daddy. Finally the WOMAN interrupted. Man enjoyed his dinner when thing being taken care by woman.

Interesting as woman thought. She started from where the man left, looking for something to fix the situation in the store room. Finally, she found a piece of old cloth, 2 pieces of tying cable. Also the used bread plastic bag from kitchen drawer. Cut the cloth and the plastic bag. At the bathroom, she put on her shower cap too. Not to wet her hair in any case.

Wrapping the tap with the cloth and plastic. Tighten the wraps with the cables.

M: Okay, gal, ask Daddy to try again (on the tap I meant)!

W: Err Mami I don't understand what you mean?(I am just 4 years old)

M: Is okay, just tell Daddy to try. Daddy understands.

W: Okay!

(We are so proud of her for being so obedient. )

Well, thing did not turn out as planned. Plan A failed.

Since Plan A failed, there is Plan A (revised). This is to add on a thin food plastic wrapper before wrapping the cloth and another plastic. Thing is still bad as water still bursting (in a more systematic way, only splashing on wall).

As the plumber is only coming the next noon (additional charge of $40/- if to come immediately and appointment slots in morning are fully booked), we proceed as usual to get things done. W brushed teeth, G showered, H showered and of course to keep some water using all bottles, buckets and pails that could be found at home. Then shut down the main water piping for the day.

As timing is really bad, M is working alone (her colleague who has not go on leave for months is on leave with some filings left behind) and H is having his Regional Finance Meeting and Training of the year. So Ah Mah with Genie are at home to welcome the plumber. Hope things go well.

That's all for now!
(God Bless!)
